HBF Tree Planting Team September 2008

In September 2008 HBF furthered their commitment by sponsoring the planting of 6,568 native trees and shrubs at the HBF Tree planting Day.

The tree planting day was carried out at Auria, 15 Kms Nrth east of Dowerin, a property belonging to Mr David Kennett, a research property which has been given over entirely to revegetation projects.

Approximately 45 people from HBF enjoyed the planting day as well as David Kennett and Harley from Auria and Daniel Oxenburgh, Ken England, Tim and James Sherry from Wildly Important Action Programs.

To compliment the 6568 trees planted HBF furthered their Action Programs by adopting 14 native animals including 2 Western Swamp Tortoises through the Perth Zoo and a mixture of 12 native animals, reptiles and birds through Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.  These include one of each: Red Kangaroo, Echidna, Stimsons Python, Woylies, Magpie, Bobtail Lizard, Quenda, Emu, red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, Bilby,  Chuditch and western Barred Bandicoot.
